The 41-year-old female driver of an allegedly stolen vehicle who fled the scene of a two car collision has been remanded into custody.
The woman has not yet been charged but is expected to be charged shortly.
Police expect to charge the woman with multiple offences including with offences including conduct endangering life and drink driving.
Saturday, UPDATE
Police have apprehended the female driver of a stolen vehicle that was involved in two collisions in central Ballarat this afternoon.
Witnesses say the female driver of a 90’s Maroon Ford sedan fled a collision that left a woman in her 60’s with leg injuries, cuts and abrasions.
Police and paramedics were called to the scene of the collision near the intersection of Otway and Eureka streets just before 1pm.
The driver appears was apprehended by police on Linaker Street just off Lal Lal Street at around 1.20pm.
Police have confirmed that stolen maroon 90’s Ford Falcon was involved in a hit run on Market Street earlier today.
Ambulance Victoria spokesman John Mullen said paramedics were treating the woman in her 60’s for sustained injuries and shock at the scene. She is expected to be transferred to hospital.
