The Brisbane Lions defender hurt her knee in last weekend's clash with Carlton and has been racing the clock to recover in time for the historic decider against Adelaide.
Hildebrand said the injury was no more serious than a hyper-extension of her knee and expected to prove her fitness to win a spot in the Lions' team.
The 23-year-old was named in the initial side released on Thursday.
Hildebrand said while she was desperate to play on Saturday, she would not do so at the detriment of her side.
"They are just allowing me to get as much recovery in as I can. I've been doing all the right things. The strength and conditioning coach is telling me I'm looking good, but it all just depends how I go through the fitness test," Hildebrand told The Courier.
"I feel I'm going to be able to play. I feel like I know my body well enough to be able to push through things like this, but if it comes down to a point where I don't feel confident, I'm obviously just going to have to put my hand up and say that's how it is.
"You've got to do the right thing for the team. It's not about me, it's about the Brisbane Lions."
Hildebrand is part of a huge AFLW success story for Mt Clear College, which has three former students set to line up in the grand final
If Hildebrand is fit, she will play alongside Kaitlyn Ashmore, while Sally Riley has been named to take her place in the Crows' team.
All three players graduated from the school at different times and have made their way to the elite level of women's football.
"At the start of the year, you just don't expect where the season is going to go. Especially such a short season," Hildebrand said of the Lions' place in the grand final.
"We're over the moon that this is where we are now."
Ashmore was this week named in the initial All-Australian squad of 40 players.
Saturday's game will be played at Metricon Stadium in Queensland.
