A strong hometown contingent is among record entries for the Tennis Australia bronze tournament – one of two JT events in Ballarat each year.
The three-day event, which begins at Ballarat Regional Tennis Centre on Saturday, has attracted 209 players – up from 120 last year across 12/under, 14/under and 16/under age groups.
Ballarat hopes include James O’Sullivan and Hugh McManus, who are the 16/under boys’ singles number two and three seeds respectively.
In the 16/under girls’ singles, Tayte Fraser and Genevieve Bush will also be hoping to impress on their home courts, while Lilly and Milla Fraser will play in the 14/under and 12/under sections, and Megan O’Beirne in the 12/unders.
