Ballarat North defeated the Rangers one goal to nil to end a five game winning streak by the Rangers at Russell Square on Sunday, with the sole scorer of the game Jeremy Beggs.
With the number one position on the ladder up for grabs, Buninyong claimed the honour after a dominant display over Bacchus Marsh, scoring five goals to one, at Morshead Park.
Buninyong’s Jonah Healey and Lewis McNamara each scored two goals apiece, with Mitchell Ralston scoring the other.
Jackson Almenara was Bacchus Marsh’s only scorer.
Buninyong nudged out one win ahead of the pack, with Forest Rangers, Sebastopol Vikings, Warrnambool Rangers and Ballarat North United all following closely with five wins.
