Burke is representing her home country of Chinese Taipei in India and its campaign got off to a thrilling start with a one-point win over DPR of Korea.
Chinese Taipei did not fare as well against group A’s leader China. It lost by 39 points as Burke contributed six points and an equal team-high four rebounds.
Chinese Taipei will round out its group stage matches against New Zealand Tuesday afternoon, but it is unlikely it will advance given China would have to lose to the winless DPR of Korea.
Burke is averaging a touch over 14 points per game for Rush this season.
Ballarat has managed to cover the significant loss well to this point, taking home strong wins over the weekend in the SEABL competition. But she will be a welcome return following the International Basketball Federation Asia Cup.
