Sitting on 33 votes, Peters is three votes clear of nearest rival Bacchus Marsh key player Scott Sherlock.
Meanwhile, Redan’s star onballer Nathan Horbury rounds out the top three on 29 votes.
With just two weeks remaining in the CHFL season, player votes will now remain in camera until the winner is announced at the end of the season.
But the competition for top spot is tightening, despite Rokewood Corindhap’s Sam Chapman establishing a strong lead last week.
