The national award takes into account factors such as turnover, compliance, growth and retention.
Ballarat City soccer star Dom Swinton said the win was not only great for the staff, but also the community.
“It shows how much they are supporting the programs that their kids are getting involved in,” he said.
Swinton said some of key aspects that have set the franchise apart were the staff and regional location.
“We’ve got great resources here and being all local we have a strong network with the kindergartens and primary schools… and we’ve been able to get quality coaches,” he said.
The coaches, which include Buninyong footballer Jarrod Rodgers and basketball player Zac Pullman, have experience and knowledge in a range of sports, and are passionate about the opportunity to introduce these sports to children.
