Division one ended the season strongly and finished 10 points clear in fourth following an eight-goal win over Boroondara Express.
It used the final round to experiment with a few positions ahead of a knock-out final with City West Falcons, which it has a 1-1 record with this year. Division one coach Kim Bailey believes her side is a much different outfit to the one that lost 68-53 to Falcons earlier in the year.
It was a disappointing end to the season for the championship side, going down to a strong Boroondara team by 44 goals.
Express had a number of Australian Netball League players come into the side, but Sovereigns’ structures had to be rearranged following a first-quarter injury to star Casey Adamson.
Adamson endured a “severe” ankle injury and looks set to miss around six weeks.
The 19/under side went down 61-45 despite an impressive first half.
