Andrew Dark will umpire his 1000th match on the weekend and he will be part of one of the most experienced umpiring panels likely to be seen as 7445 games of experience will umpire the Rokewood-Corindhap versus Clunes match.
Dark will be joined by David Taylor and Frank Williams as the central umpires, Phil McClelland and Riley Caldow on the boundary while Peter Hughes and Gary Hamilton will adjudicate the goals.
Dark has a rich background in football having played for 22 years and coached for seven, he turned to the whistle looking for a challenge and another way to stay involved in the game.
At 69 years of age, Dark has no intention of retiring any time soon and said as soon as he felt it was becoming a chore, that would be the day he called it quits. Umpiring Rokewood-Corindhap will hold extra meaning for Dark, who played the majority of his football there, as did his father and two brothers.
Goal umpire Darren Woodyat will celebrate his 500th game on the weekend.
