The event, at The Lost Ones Contemporary Art Gallery, will look at how the slow death of the traditional photo news desk may be helping to bring about the rise of photographer-led networks with new creative standards.
Speakers at the seminar and recording include Raphaela Rosella, Morganna Magee of the Lumina Collective, Heidi Romano and former Age photographer Penny Stephens.
“This is a time of ‘fake news’, of photo manipulation, of extensive propaganda being circulated through social media sites. It is unsurprising that the documentary photography sector has to change shape to adapt, and in the process establish new rules and new collectives,” said The Lost Ones director and co-founder Tara Poole.
The event will be held at The Lost Ones, 14 Camp Street, on September 16 from 2pm. Tickets $10
