The duo will bring the Ballarat Art Gallery to life with a fascinating combination of 10 String classical guitar with concert grand piano.
Audiences can expect stunning arrangements of Beethoven’s 5th Symphony, Rodrigo’s Spanish Guitar Masterpiece ‘Concierto De Aranjuez’, excerpts from Concierto for Classical Guitar and Jazz piano from Claude Bolling and a unique interpretation of Issac Albeniz Asturias ‘Leyenda’.
This special occasion will be the debut performance in Ballarat by Melbourne-based pianist Nicholas Young who is a prestigious ‘Young Steinway Artist’.
Mr Young joins the celebrated community of today’s most acclaimed pianists and has enjoyed a diverse career as a solo, chamber and orchestral pianist.
This event will also be the debut of Mr Young sharing his hidden talent on classical guitar in a duo guitar performance with Mr Fagan.
Guitar was Mr Young’s first instrument, and he was awarded his Associate Diploma in Guitar in 2010.
Mr Fagan has chosen a piano repertoire to honour his grandfather; celebrated concert pianist Milton Parkes.
This will be a truly special classical, flamenco and Jazz program performed with passion, renewed vigour and virtuosity.
Mr Fagan and Mr Young will grace the stage at the Ballarat Art Gallery on Saturday, October 7 from 7.30pm to 9pm.
Tickets are available from the Gallery via phone on 5320 5858 or online at www.artgalleryofballarat.com.au.
