The Bendigo cyclist was killed when he was struck by a car while riding just outside his hometown last Friday.
His death caused ripples through the tight-knit Victorian cycling community.
Ballarat cyclist Gerard White made a call this week for tougher penalties on drivers who recklessly injure cyclists, after his 20-year-old son Nick collided with a ute in Buninyong earlier this month. Nick walked away with minor injuries.

Mr White also reiterated the call for a one-metre passing law to be enforced in Victoria.
In response to his son’s crash, Mr White contacted Ballarat City Council and asked if more safety signs could be set up around Buninyong ahead of next week’s championships, with many riders already training in the area.
Council installed two temporary electronic signs this week, warning motorists to look out for riders along the Midland Highway.
Lowndes' family, friends and team-mates and the general public will unite in Ballarat to do a "Lap for Lowndesy" around national road race course in Buninyong on next Thursday.
"Lap for Lowndesy" is the brainchild of Lowndes' former team-mate Brenton Jones.
“It will be a chance for everyone to honour his life, which was filled with so many memorable achievements and times we all shared, on the bike doing what he loved,’’ Jones posted on Facebook.
“Following this, we will all be heading to the nearest café to enjoy a brew for our mate. I know he’d love to see us all out there remembering what an incredible young man he was.’’
Anyone who would like to take part in the "Lap for Lowndesy" is asked to meet at De Soza Park, Buninyong at 8.30am on January 4.
FedUni Cycling Australia Road National Championships run from January 3-7, starting with Sturt Street criteriums on Wednesday afternoon.
Ballarat-Sebastopol Cycling Club will also host the new Ballarat Cycling Carnival on New Year’s Day, with criterium racing in Victoria Park, as a lead-in event.
The carnival follows BSCC’s track carnival on the velodrome at Marty Busch Reserve on Saturday.
