Australia Day is set to go out with a bang in Ballarat with fireworks at Lake Wendouree on Friday evening.

The fireworks are expected to draw thousands of people to the shores of the lake to see the show at 9pm.
City of Ballarat advises Windmill Drive will be closed to traffic and parking from 6am to 10pm on Friday.
Ballarat Botanical Gardens and Lake Wendouree foreshore will be an alcohol free zone from 3pm.
Lake Wendouree will be closed for all waterway activities due to the fireworks display from 6pm to 11.30pm Friday.
City of Ballarat encourages residents to take care of their pets during the fireworks display and ensure pets are kept secure and indoors if needed.
A breakfast and flag raising ceremony will take place at Park Lake Reserve in Creswick at 8am.
For the early risers, a pancake breakfast, sunrise walk and flag raising ceremony will be held at Mount Beckworth Reserve, meeting at the dam, at 5.45am in Clunes.
Creswick Woollen Mills will host an Australia Day picnic from Friday to Sunday. The event will feature market stalls with locally handmade goods, local produce tastings, activities for kids, prizes, raffles and the chance to meet animals at the petting zoo.
An Australia Day Eve civic reception at Daylesford Town Hall included a citizenship ceremony and presentation of Australia Day Awards.
