The six-year-old saluted in the $20,000 Vulcan Trotters’ Free-For-All, 1720m, at Melton on Saturday night.
Reinsman Josh Aiken found the one-out one-back trail on Glenferrie Burn ($16.20) behind stablemate Heavenly Sister, which went on to run third, and then finished over the top of leader Fabrication in the closing 100m.
The success followed a win by stablemate My Tribeca in the group 2 Cochran Cup on Ballarat Cup night a week earlier.
It was Glenferrie Burn’s first win since July and takes her career record to 17 wins from 61 starts for more than $210,000 in stakes.
Meanwhile, Margaret Ruth produced one of the biggest last 200m seen at Melton in some time to triumph in the group 2 Vicbred Platinum Trotting Mares Sprint Championship, 1720m, for Daylesford trainer-driver Anne-Maree Conroy.
Backing up for a heat win in Ballarat, Margaret Ruth ($1.80) was last of the main bunch heading into the home turn and appeared too far back to get into contention.
However, she powered home to bring up her eighth career win and take hear earnings past $80,000.
The four-year-old mare has now also won three races on end – two being heats of the championship series.
Both the Golino and Conroy stables specialise in squaregaiters.
