Victoria will meet Sebastopol in Saturday’s last home and away round to determine which of the Ballarat clubs plays finals.
Fourth-placed Sebastopol entered round with an 18-point cushion over nearest rival Lara.
However, the Burra suffered a shock loss to Eastern Park down in seventh – not picking up a point – to open the door for Victoria.
Victoria was made to work hard by bottom-placed City of Geelong, which split the rinks at two apiece, but a crucial 32-17 win by Noel Verlinden’s side of Stephen Britt, Darren Britt and Neil Capuano proved vital.
The two rinks it did lose were close, 24-22 and 23-22.
With just a seven-point adavantage over Victoria, Sebastopol will be at home to Victoria in the make-or-break encounter.
Webbcona also helped Victoria’s cause with a 108-91 win over Lara as it secured 16 of the points available.
John Cameron, Matthew Collins, Thomas Clarke and Leah Mcarthur (s) were relentless in a 33-18 win to help put Webbcona into a powerful position.
BMS could not take a trick against Queenscliff in fialing to pick up a point.
