SPAMALOT, the musical lovingly ripped off from Monty Python and the Holy Grail, will lend a hand to support Ballarat Hospice Care. A portion of opening night ticket sales will be donated to the palliative care service.

Hospice counsellor-by-day and stage manager-by-night Paula Robinson says both her worlds are about promoting diversity and community.

“The role of stage manager is often complex and very diverse...In essence, we recognise the value in each individual and their contribution to the team,” Ms Robinson said.

“It’s similar in the counselling work we do. And just because you are sick, or caring for someone who is sick, this does not mean you have to stop living. (Spamalot) is a lot of fun with a lot of silly songs.”

Ballarat Light Opera company has partnered with charitable organisation, the Order of St John of Jerusalem Knights Hospitaller Ballarat, in the opening night fundraiser.

BLOC’s Spamalot opens on April 14 with $5 from each ticket sold to be donated to Ballarat Hospice Care.
