Chris Pulham has secured Albert Park Sailing Club its first Victorian Jubilee One-Design Championship on debut on Lake Wendouree.

Albert Park had its first taste of Jubilee racing when it contested last year's Rudder Shield in Ballarat by invitation – and won.

Jubilee Yacht Association of Victoria secretary Leonie Crosbie said this prompted the club to buy a boat from Sydney and make a triumphant return to Ballarat.

Pulham dominated the series, winning four of five heats in light and sometimes “fickle” conditions on Saturday and Sunday.

Ballarat Yacht Club’s Charles Weatherly finished second, with Brian Canny (Ballarat) third in the 16-craft field.

TESTING: Light and often flukey conditions on Lake Wendouree kept the fleet's sailors on their toes over the two-day regatta.
