After dropping their past two games, the Navy Blues need to make the most of a return to playing on familiar turf in front of a home crowd against Sunshine George Cross at Morshead Park.

Ballarat has had every chance to set up its season, but finding the back of the net just five times in four games has been well short of what has been needed.

Despite the below par outcomes, City FC still is not too far off the pace, so from that point of view a run of home games could not have come at a better time.

Ballarat will play five of its next seven fixtures at Morshead Park and the points have to flow.

A quick glance at the ladder suggests Ballarat shoud be a firm favourite against Sunshine, which sits on the bottom with two draws.

However, it faced a similar scenario a week ago against Werribee City, which did not have a point to its name.

And Ballarat came up empty-handed.

That cannot be allowed to happen and this will be the message from head coach Danny Gnjidic as a crowd hungry for success waits in anticipation.

BALLARAT City FC is also searching for a second win of the under-20 season against third-placed Sunshine George Cross.

The under-20's season has largely mirrored their senior teammates, with a win and draw for four points in four rounds.

Ballarat's best results have come in its home games and it will again have to make the most of a return to Morshead Park on Saturday.
