LOVEABLE: Anton Erkamps-Seamons is being remembered as a lovable 10-year-old who lived for his spiders, bugs and getting outdoors with his father.

ANTON Erkamps-Seamons was yesterday remembered as a lovable scallywag who lived for his spiders, bugs, soccer and getting outdoors with his dad Daryl."He was a very kind-hearted kid, probably a typical boy really," his aunt Michelle Porter told The Courier.Anton, 10, died instantly just after 8.30am yesterday when he was hit by a truck at the intersection of the Midland Hwy and Creswick and Daylesford roads. The Grade 5 pupil was riding his bike south along the Midland Hwy from his grandparents' house in Camp St to Mrs Porter's Lewers St house to collect his two cousins for another day at St Augustine's Primary School, Creswick."He'd been waiting for this day to ride his bike with his cousins all week," Mrs Porter said."He's like another brother to my kids."Anton lived with his family, Daryl, Andi and Elora, in Allendale and regularly visited his mother, Lisa Erkamps and brother Tanner, in Bendigo. His father Daryl said Anton was loved by everyone who knew him and would be greatly missed."He was a lovely kid with a heart of gold," he said.Mrs Porter said he spent the last weekend with his mother when she took lots of lovely photos of him."He was like a mini-me of his dad," she said."He loved to play the Playstation and ride his motorbike and pushbike."And he just loved doing jobs outside with his dad."Anton also played junior games for Creswick Soccer Club.Sergeant Tim Argall said it appeared Anton had made a right-hand turn into the truck. He said a local doctor tried to revive Anton, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The intersection was closed for several hours after the accident.Sgt Argall said the truck driver was extremely traumatised by the incident and no charges would be laid."These are very tragic circumstances and our thoughts turn to the family at this time," Sgt Argall said. Police are appealing for two specific witnesses to the accident to come forward. One was the driver of a maroon station wagon, which was directly behind the truck when the incident occurred and the other was a white water truck travelling north on the Midland Hwy and may have had to swerve narrowly to avoid the collision. These people, or anyone with any other information, can call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or go to the website www.crimestoppers.com.au.Meanwhile, two people were taken to hospital yesterday with minor injuries following a three-car collision in Ballarat North. The accident occurred at the corner of Norman and Doveton streets at 4pm.
