Police were first called to the Dalwood Court address to arrest the man who was wanted over alleged car thefts and aggravated burglaries.
Officers arrived and found him standing outside of the house next to a white Holden Commodore about 7pm.
Police parked their patrol car in front of the Commodore to stop him from fleeing, but the man suddenly got into his car, allegedly reversing at speed straight into the police vehicle.
Police got out of their car as the man allegedly armed himself with a wheel brace, but the officers were able to gain the upper hand, using capsicum spray on him.
The man was arrested and taken back to the Ballarat police station for an interview.
It’s expected he will be slapped with new anti-ramming charges and will appear in court today.
No police members were injured in the incident.
