As well as securing titles, the division one winners will also earn the right to represent Victoria in the national club championships in Shepparton (girls) and Kilsyth (boys) later this year.
Some 32 boys’ and 32 girls’ teams are taking part in the three-day event, with games at the Minerdome, Wendouree Sports and Events Centre and Arch Sports Centre.
All teams, including Ballarat Miners and Rush from the VJBL, Sale, Maffra and Orbost, Warrnambool, Portland, Geelong and Bendigo, began the tournament aiming to qualify for division one.
Results will determine final division rankings ahead of Sunday’s finals.
The tournament began on Friday at 9am.
