But today, with a new identity, Lincoln, the three-year-old Kelpie is loving life in his new home.
Lincoln, and owner Kristy Ashley are taking part in the Million Paws Walk which will be held in centres all across the country on May 20.
“I really see it as a thankyou,” Ms Ashley said. “If the RSPCA hadn’t have looked after him for as long as they did, we wouldn’t have him in our lives.
“He’s so happy and he’s completely enriched our lives.”
More than 15,000 people will walk at 16 different locations across Victoria on Sunday, May 20.
Money raised through entry fees, donations, online fundraising and merchandise will go toward RSPCA Victoria’s work to end cruelty to all animals. The RSPCA hopes to raise $500,000 this year.
The Ballarat Million Paws Walk will be held at Victoria Park. The day kicks off at 8.30am with the walk from 10am. Visit millionpawswalk.com.au/VIC
