SOVEREIGN Hill was awash with pink yesterday.Power FM hosts and their gaggle of pink cohorts flocked to the outdoor museum as part of their Pink Campaign, to get popular singer Pink to visit Ballarat. This Friday they will join forces with the Ballarat Cancer Research Centre to host Pink Day, with the ambitious aim of raising $50,000 in just five days."We're encouraging everyone to dress up in pink this Friday and donate their pink notes - the $5 ones," Power FM program director Garrath Cockerell said."It's not just a stunt to get Pink to Ballarat, but it's about promoting Ballarat and raising a bit of money for the BCRC.BCRC development manager Julie Donohue said she was thrilled by the event."We're calling it the Pink Cancer Challenge," she said. The campaign also has the support of 4251 fans on the "Bring Pink to Ballarat" Facebook group. As part of Pink Day, Ballarat will be informally renamed "Pinkville" for the day, Power FM will be Pink FM and all businesses and school are being encouraged to wear pink.Sovereign Hill will donate a percentage from the sale of Pink Packs, which include musk lollies and coconut ice.Around town, pink posters will be in windows to encourage shoppers to make donations and there will be a Pink look-a-like competition in the Bridge Mall.Mr Cockerell said he hoped it would be enough to get the attention of the famous singer.
