Brandon Bosher scored the first of his two goals at the 40-minute mark, the only goal of the first half.
Edwin North equalised for the Redbacks after 57 minutes but Bosher delivered his second at the 85-minute mark to deliver the desired response after its first loss of the season the week prior.
Meanwhile, Warrnambool gave its goal differential a boost with a 7-1 win over Ballarat.
It was 3-1 at half-time, but four goals in 15 minutes in the second half made it a lop-sided scoreline. The Rangers sit one point behind Sebastopol on the table, eight points clear of second-placed Buninyong.
Victoria Park defeated Forest 2-0, Scott Gillett providing the sealer at the 89-minute mark.
While the top two looks clear, just six points separates third to sixth in what will be a competitive battle for the remaining positions in the top four.
In the women’s division one, Warrnambool showed no mercy on the bottom-placed Bacchus Marsh, thumping it 17-0.
League leading goal-scorer Isabel Wilkinson led the way with five, to give her 20 for the season, Shkara Rantall, Fiona Jackson and Emily Whelan all scored hat-tricks while the rest were single goal-scorers.
Ballarat North United delivered a huge first half against Forest.
Six goals in the opening 39 minutes set-up a 7-0 victory, Emily Woolford the only scorer of the second half.
The match between Ballarat and Ballarat Eureka Strikers has been postponed due to a number of Strikers players being away at the Victorian Country Championships, it looks likely the match will be rescheduled to Tuesday.
