ROUND 22, 1995 in Brisbane _ a day that Shaun Smith will never forget.Although almost 15 years on from from that famous grab over Melbourne teammate Garry Lyon in the goalsquare, a mark that later went on to be known as the Mark of the Century, Smith's high-flying aerial skills will be put to the test when he lines up for the All Stars in Tuesday night's EJ Whitten Legends Game.Smith, in his first season as coach of Central Highlands Football League club Newlyn, is hoping to attempt a few of his trademark leaps in what he believes is his seventh appearance for the interstate team."Hopefully I'll try and have a crack at a couple," Smith, originally from Ainslie in the ACT, said."A lot of people remember me for taking marks and especially the one in Brisbane. If I'm remembered for something it's better than for nothing at all."Smith will line up alongside a host of retired AFL stars including Richard Champion, Darryl Wakelin, Gavin Wanganeen, Tony Modra, Martin Pike, Shane Wakelin, Mark Ricciuto, Darryl White and Ronnie Burns as the All Stars try and win back the trophy it relinquished by 15 points to Victoria last year."It's about the footy, but there's no training and no preparation for it. The only preparation is at the bar for a lot of blokes," Smith joked."It's all about reuniting with a few blokes you haven't seen for a while, having a bit of fun and raising some money."I think the last few years it's all been about the celebrities, which is getting away from what the EJ Whitten game is about. I think they are trying to focus on playing some good footy now."Smith said he would try and use the television broadcast of the match to promote Newlyn, a club he is keen to remain at in 2011.The 41-year-old signed with the Cats last year before taking over the reigns as senior coach at the start of this season."I'm planning on staying there next year. I didn't want to come in and coach for one year and then leave," he said."There's some good signs there with some good kids and it'd be nice to be there next year."Tuesday night's EJ Whitten Legends Game starts at 7.30pm.
