The victim, also 14, remains in a serious but stable condition after being stabbed a number of times on Fairbridge Road near Archway on Sunday evening with onlookers pleading for the attack to stop.
The two young suspects are being in London's north in the early hours of Monday morning, Scotland Yard said in a statement.
An 11-year-old boy was initially arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has been released from custody and faces no further action.
A witness watched the attack unfold from her apartment and said the incident began with two men and two teenagers fighting in the street before another teen ran to the group with a knife 25cm long.
"We could all see the knife in his hand. It was that big," local resident Amina Taylor said.
"You could hear the screams of 'No, stop it, don't do anything, don't be stupid' and he went for (one of the adults) first but then he was kind of swinging wildly and then he just thrust the knife into the stomach of the teenager."
She said she was shocked to see "somebody who is clearly barely taller than my nine-year-old son coming down with a weapon in his hand".
