Hawks netball, who have lost just one championship division match this season, will face Selkirk Sovereigns which is yet to taste victory this season.
Sovereigns are coming off a four-day break given it hosted Cougars in Ballarat on Friday night. Hawks are a game clear on top of the ladder and have not lost since round three, but for the young Sovereigns it is not a matter of claiming the four points, rather continuing to improve areas in its game to ensure its development.
For division one, it is a different story. The four points is crucial against fellow top four side Hawks.
Not only to remain in the top four, currently a game clear in fourth position, but to give it the belief that it can beat a top four opponent.
Sovereigns is 0-4 against top four sides this season while it is 7-1 against the rest. Having the belief against these quality opponents entering a likely finals series will be crucial.
Hawks Netball is not as strong in the 19/under division, with just three wins for the season. While Sovereigns is one of the form sides of the competition with four wins from its past five matches.
However, any hope of playing finals will require that form to continue – Sovereigns three-and-a-half games off fourth-placed Geelong – which it beat last week.
