The temperature is only expected to reach a maximum of seven degrees. That’s right, seven.
And if that’s as high as the mercury reaches, it will be the coldest day since 2016.
Snow is forecast to fall above 900m, while hail is expected in the afternoon.
For those wondering how high we are in Ballarat, we’ve pulled together some of Ballarat and district’s highest points, according to Bonzle.com.
- Mt Buninyong – 754m.
- Mt Warrenheip – 746m.
- Leonard’s Hill (near Daylesford) – 740m.
- Clarkes Hill – 718m.
- Mt Misery (near Beaufort) – 686m.
- Daylesford – 576m.
- Gordon – 564m.
- Ballarat – 423m.
Last year’s coldest day occurred on July 16, when we recorded a maximum of just 7.6 degrees.
And it was July 12, 2016, when we saw the region absolutely blanketed with snow.
So grab an extra jacket, gloves, scarf and beanie and prepare to ride this one out.
