Jason Noble, 46, pleaded guilty on Monday in the Ballarat Magistrate’s Court to multiple charges arising from an incident near Sulky in March this year. Two of the charges were then withdrawn.
The court heard that at 7pm on 19 March, Noble was driving north on the Midland Highway behind a red utility with a female driver.
It was alleged he followed the utility across the railway crossing and then tailgated the driver through the 80km zone.
The court heard Noble swerved towards the vehicle while overtaking and that he later stopped on a roundabout so the utility could not pass and got out to “complain about her driving.”
Noble, representing himself, said the woman had been driving at 60 km through the 80km zone and had later boasted, “I’ve got you on dash cam” but that the camera had not been facing to the rear.
He admitted calling the woman “a stupid b..ch” and saying, “wait until next time” and he agreed with Magistrate Stratmann that his words could have had “a frightening impact.”
Noble had a conviction recorded, had his licence disqualified, was fined $1800 and was ordered to pay $124.40 in court costs.
