Victorians will have free bus rides across 70 routes at the weekend as drivers strike for better pay.
Hundreds of CDC Victoria bus drivers won't collect fares or switch on Myki card readers from the first bus service on Saturday as part of industrial strike action over two weeks.
The Transport Workers Union members will also not wear company uniforms during the action.
Workers across the company's Wyndham, Geelong, Ballarat, Oakleigh and Sunshine depots will take part as they push for a four per cent wage rise and one per cent super increase.
But planned strike action on Friday has been called off.
"We have stopped the buses three times now and have the option to do that again next week so that is certainly not off the table," TWU national vice-president John Berger said on Wednesday.
"We will simply continue to campaign until a fair agreement acceptable to our members is reached."
He said the union would continue discussions if a "sensible offer" for a new enterprise bargaining agreement was put on the table.
The company's existing wage offer is below the past 15 average annual wage increases the drivers have received, the union said in a statement.
Negotiations stalled after Fair Work Commission mediation on July 13 failed between the parties.
CDC Victoria was notified on Wednesday that strike action two days later would not go ahead.
"As such, all CDC Victoria services will operate as normal," CDC said in a statement on Wednesday.
