Fire and SES crews were called to a house on Ti Tree Road in Warrenheip shortly before 5pm to what the CFA has listed as a rescue with a threat of structure collapse after the sedan ran into the house.
Ambulance Victoria was called to the scene after reports of a man in his 30s trapped in a vehicle, who has since been transferred to Ballarat Base Hospital with a medical condition.
Ti Tree Road resident Andrew said he heard a noise followed by “a big bang” which he believed was a tree falling, before seeing the crash across the road and checking on the male driver.
“The first thump might have the chassis or something, then he’s hit a small tree and then just gone straight on and kuh-bang.”
“From the other direction, [drivers] come off the road because of the loose stones, but never from that direction.”
“I feel sorry for the house owner, he’s been renovating it for years.”
Buninyong CFA’s Peter Conroy said at the scene a single vehicle with a one male occupant had “come off the edge of Ti Tree Road, and gone sideways into the house”.
“We’re be here for a long while tonight, we have to remove the vehicle from the house, and then SES will chock it up.”
Mr Conroy said he believed the house’s owner had been contacted.
