Chelsea Dunley lost her husband, childhood sweetheart Wayde, after he fell from a Bundeena cliff last year – days after they had applied to be on the reality television series.
Their dream of transforming their tiny miners cottage came true as the reality television show’s final challenge for their finalists.
The cottage was extended back with a new open plan kitchen/dining/lounge, the addition of an atrium, ensuite and deck.
“Walking up to our house I feel like he’d be looking down on us a happy man,” Mrs Dunley told the cameras.
“This is just what we dreamed, he would just be so happy his girls are looked after.”
As the contestants watched there were tears, especially as baby Koa pointed out her “mumma” and “dada” in a framed photo on the wall.
To give Koa the home that Wayde and I dreamt of is so important … it’s our happy place.

Wayde – a former West Tigers and East Campbelltown Eagles player – is honoured throughout the home with a planter box he made, old love letters and photographs.
The Dunley home’s renovation was the final challenge for House Rules contestants to get to the grand final of the reality television competition.
Family friends have now set up a Go Fund Me page to help Chelsea Dunley and Koa with her mortgage.
