BCH’s board of directors announced on Wednesday that Ms Reeves has resigned as chief executive officer, to step down from her role in November this year.
As the longest serving CEO of the organisation which employs more than 220 staff, Ms Reeves said she loved working with “enthusiastic” colleagues.
“We have really highly engaged staff, and I think the people that chose to work in community health as a sector generally have a great passion for their work,” she said. “There’s so many opportunities for us to make a difference to the quality of life for people in our community.
“We have lots of momentum – we’re starting new programs later in the year, we’re obviously wanting to work in the area of disability support and the NDIS, we’re working with aged care, families and children.”
Chairman of the board Brian Crebbin said when Ms Reeves arrived, “the organisation was facing significant difficulties and through her leadership, brought BCH to a place of prosperity and revitalisation”.
Ms Reeves said after almost 14 years, now was a “really good time” to hand the role to someone fresh, as BCH is in “great shape”.
“At the end of this year, I’m planning a couple of months break. Then next year, in 2019, I’ll think about what other opportunities I might like,” she said.
A transition plan is now in place until a new CEO is appointed.
