Young musical theatre students from Ballarat Centre of Music and the Arts have been rehearsing the fairytale mash-up ahead of their production on a triple-bill of shows this weekend.
The show features 19 students aged 10 to 16.
“The students have very quickly learned and developed the script, and many of them have learned additional roles so that, if required, they can quickly step in for someone else,” said BCMA director Paula Heenan.
Unlike traditional fairy tales, this story doesn’t end in a “happily ever after” as each character must face the consequences of their decisions.
BCMA musical theatre students will present Battle of Boat, Into the Woods Jr and Madagascar on a triple bill at Loreto College Performing Arts Centre on July 28 and 29. Tickets: www.trybooking.com.au
