Undermanned WestVic side draws to lock-in finals berth

A 2-2 draw with Mornington Peninsula sees WestVic Hockey’s men’s side lock-in its finals ticket.

With three rounds remaining in Hockey Victoria’s men’s league one, WestVic is in third spot and cannot miss the finals.

Saturday’s result was a pleasing one given Mornington is knocking on the door of the top four and WestVic was without a number of its star players with six representing Victoria at the Australian Country Championships in South Australia.

Michael Churcher did the damage for WestVic, scoring both of the side’s goals.
