A severe weather warning has been issued for Ballarat, with winds as strong as 100km/h expected top hit the region tonight.

Strong, northerly winds will expected to strengthen on Tuesday night ahead of a cold front that will arrive on Friday afternoon.
Before the cold front, however, it is expected to be unseasonably warm.
The mercury could reach as high as 15 degrees in Ballarat before the cold front hits.
The winds are forecast to average 60 to 70 km/h with peak gusts of 90 to 100 km/h.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
* Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony;
* Keep clear of fallen power lines;
