The service provides accommodation and support for young people at risk of homelessness and aims to help them set and achieve goals and independence.
All residents in the house, operated by St John of God, must be in or committed to re-engaging in education, training or employment.
Before moving to Horizon House, life at home for Louise was overcrowded and stressful. She is now a part of tier one of the program, which includes the provision of accommodation and intensive support for a period of up to 12 months.
“I now have a fresh, new outlook on life because the program has given me the opportunity to set goals and achieve them,” Louise said.
