A three-day Western Victoria Cancer Ride, starting and finishing in Ballarat, is a unique fundraising event for Fiona Elsey Cancer Research Institute. The 450-kilometre journey is aimed for serious riders who enjoy luxury accommodation and dining.
It is a spin-off from FECRI’s primary mass participation rides and walk event Reach4Research Cycle Classic, mass participation road and mountain bike rides with a family walk and run in February.
“The concept of a ride for fundraising is not new but the degustation part is something unique,” Mr Lightfoot said. “We really wanted to do something a little different, a special experience with networking at the same time.”
The ride will be capped at 15 participants, each with a $5000 minimum fundraising requirement on top of trip expenses. Riders will stop in Dunkeld and Great Western.
