Men’s Circle is designed to be a safe, respectful and confidential place for men to share what is important to them, without any external pressures to participate, or judgments of any kind.
The group is being facilitated by Greg Govinda, who has spent 40 years researching well-being.
He says each participant will be respected for who they are and for what they are going through.
“We use a talking stick so that each man has the opportunity to speak freely and openly, without interruption.
“This gives each participant the opportunity to explore what is going on in their life and to have the space and support to be with, and discover, their inner truth.
“Each session also includes a process of sitting quietly and connecting with the peace that usually evades people in their busy lives.
“The regular practice of such builds into each man a greater ability to find that peace when life challenges again.”
Men’s Circle will seek to connect men with a better sense of self in a safe and supportive group environment.
Each session will include brief guided processes to help relax and develop awareness of what a man might be carrying within himself.
Speaking is voluntary and nothing is expected from anyone, other than they be present and participate according to what feels appropriate to them.
The group will meet at the Phoenix Studio, Level 1, 107 Sturt Street, Ballarat from 6.30-8.30pm on Wednesday, August 22. Cost: $10.
