The 39-60 loss at the State Netball and Hockey Centre on Wednesday means the young side ends its 2018 campaign without a victory.
For the division one side, which is looking at a finals campaign, the Sovereigns trailed at each break but managed to close the gap to achieve a draw, 63-63.
The squad will be unsatisfied with the end result, but it has not had an impact on the Sovereigns’ ladder position or finals hopes, having already secured the top four.
The Sovereigns shot at 88 per cent efficiency compared to the Southern Saints’ 90 per cent, but had more opportunities in front of goal.
Meanwhile, the 19/under side has finished the season on a high with a hard-fought five-goal victory over the Southern Saints.
The team finished the season in sixth position on the ladder with eight wins and 10 losses overall.
