The encounter will be the second of a TAC Cup double-header at Mars Stadium, Geelong Falcons taking on Calder Cannons at 11.30am.
Pat Glanford, Elliot Lamb, Matt Lloyd, Isaac Wareham, Jacob Lohmann, Ben Dodd and Riley Polkinghorne all return to the side, many of which missing last week’s impressive win over Bendigo Pioneers due to school football commitments in the Herald Sun Shield grand final.
There will also be two debutants, Liam Herbert and Jamarra Ugle-Hagan set to pull on the Rebels jumper for the first time in a senior match. Scott Carlin will miss the clash, but for positives reasons. The promising youngster will be the 23rd player for Werribee’s VFL side – providing great experience for Carlin.
The Rebels will face a tough challenge against Oakleigh, the fourth-placed Chargers have been in strong form of late, winning four of its past five matches.
The Rebels currently sit in ninth position and will finish the traditional home and away season in either eighth or ninth. However, the TAC Cup will play a wildcard round the week after, meaning regardless of the weekend’s result, the Rebels will play Northern Knights in its wildcard match.
The wildcard round sees the top four teams take a week off ahead of finals while the bottom eight face-off to qualify for the remaining four spots. Fifth to play 12th, sixth to play 11th, and so on.
