Morrissey said Fevola was great for the club in his first season, not only kicking 56 goals on the field, but bringing plenty of people through the gates and helping to boost the club’s profile.
However, an Achilles injury this season limited him to just one game while his media commitments also grew.
“He was great for the club the first year,” Morrissey said.
“He increased attendances and it did what we wanted it to do, got a buzz around the club.
“It’s a bit of a disappointment that we couldn’t get him out for some games this year.”
Morrissey said Fevola did everything he could to try and return for a final game, but in the end his body did not hold-up, succumbing to a back concern prior to the final round.
“We did all the right things.”
