Harness Racing Victoria’s life after racing program “HERO” will be on track at Ballarat trots on Friday night to provide racegoers with an insight into the retraining of retired standardbreds.
“Harness Education and Re-homing Opportunities” is a joint initiative of HRV and the State Government with the support of the Victorian Racing Industry Fund.
The visit is part of a Ballarat and District Trotting Club “experience harness racing” initiative.
The HERO program will run a series of short sessions detailing all aspects of life after racing options for standardbreds, with an emphasis on developing positive pathways for retired horses.
Group 1-winning pacer Villagem will be among HERO graduates on track for a meet and greet.
