Albert Smith disappeared from a Inglis Street car facility in the early morning last Monday and is believed to have hitched a ride to Mount Egerton, about 14km west of Ballan.
It is believed he was picked up on Old Melbourne Road about 6.30am.
However, his movements from that point have remained a mystery and he there have been no confirmed sightings of him since.
Mr Smith suffers from a number of ailments and would need heavy medication
His family has twice made emotional appeals for his safe return.
A police spokesperson told The Courier on Sunday morning said there had been no update on his whereabouts or any new information about his disappearance that had come to light.
