An appeal against the Maryborough Castlemaine District Football Netball League clubs’ decision to block their transfer request has been lodged by the Bulldogs, which are hoping to join the competition for the 2019 season.
The commission is expected to hand down a verdict on Friday, October 26.
Smythesdale is looking to leave the Central Highlands league, where it has struggled since joining the competition ahead of the 2011 season.
At a special meeting in Carisbrook during late September, MCDFNL clubs voted against allowing Smythesdale entry into the league for next year.
Bulldogs president John Cranny told The Courier that the club’s annual general meeting would be held on the Monday after the commission handed down its verdict.
