Honore Folly (under-16s), Lunophare Folly (under-20s), Denelson Salvatore (under-20s), Latjor Chawech (under-18s), Thon Chawech (under-20s), Sidd Anaud (under-16s) all played a part in the short film which will screen on Tuesday night, 5.45pm, at Federation Square with players and coaches attending.
Ballarat City was targetted as an ideal club given its multicultural program and diverse playing list.
The film is based on the story of Peter Norman, a man from Melbourne who stood up for human rights at Mexico’s 1968 Olympics, his son, Matthew, is the director of the film and said it was a proud moment to produce and voice such an important message.
“The whole idea (was to) bring awareness to racial equality, especially in sport,” Norman said.
“It shows that people can take a stand like Peter Norman did...getting it out to sports organisations, and the world, will give an insight to what I believe needs to be done to say enough is enough when it comes to racism.
“Their (the Ballarat City players) input on this film was awesome and I’m really looking forward to letting them see themselves on the big screen.”
Ballarat City was stoked to have representation in the film given its strong stance and numerous programs working in the same direction.
The film will be uploaded to YouTube after tonight's premiere. It is going to be used by VicSport to educate clubs about anti-racism and inclusiveness in sport.
The film has been made possible through funding from Sport and Recreation Victoria. Nova Peris is heading the project.
