Climate Change Denial
When it comes to climate change I am as vulnerable as the next person to wishing it is all a mistake.

But the ridiculous arguments on offer from columnists writing in the Murdoch tabloids this week gave me no solace whatsoever.
Indeed the entire edifice of climate change denial now stands upon the absurd idea that climate change is a leftist conspiracy/cult.
Apparently the fact that Al Gore made some outrageous predictions that haven't played means we have to dismiss the whole thing as a falsehood.
It's the kind of bare-faced nonsense that can only be uttered precisely because it is so crazy that no one quite knows what to say in response.
Needless to say if the links between the conservative government and the right-wing persist they are well on track to cause the ruination of conservative politics in this country.

Forestalling inappropriate city development
Speaking at Sunday's Ballarat Heritage Watch forum, planning expert Professor Michael Buxton warned that Ballarat would soon see the rapid and unbridled growth Melbourne has experienced unless forestalled by the action of both community members and Council.
Community members need to stress to political candidates the key importance of Ballarat's heritage to city economy and amenity and indicate their interest in having a voice in planning decisions.
Council needs to make the most effective use of the planning instruments available to it, clearly identify what is and is not suited to infill development and stand up to pressure from State Government and private developers regarding inappropriate development.
What's your response City of Ballarat?

Who pays
I read with interest the above story “Anger After Run Goes Bust” on The Courier, October 10.
Were you aware that if any Goods or Services are paid by Credit Card and the goods and service are not delivered,a customer can claim back the cost of those goods or service from their Credit Card company (Bank).
In these sorts of stories if you could put a Notation at the end of the story relating to the above I would imagine this would be good P.R from your papers point of view.
