The finalised plan comes after a $2.026 million election commitment from the state government and was announced by Buninyong MP Geoff Howard on Friday.
Mr Howard said the park would be more accessible by including improved connections to Ballarat.
A trail network will utilise both existing and will also create new trails for walking, horse riding and bike riding.
“This includes experiences that can accommodate visitors of all ages and abilities, including a dementia sensory trail – a first for Victoria,” he said.
“A new Community Engagement Ranger will support the delivery of health programs in the park, consolidating aspirations for Woowookarung to be a place that contributes to the community’s physical and mental well-being.
The plan also outlines how the park’s cultural history and native plant and animal life will be protected through conservation, regeneration and re-vegetation programs and traditional owner cultural fire management practices.
Mr Howard said it was rare that such a large patch of land became available.
“I’m delighted to share this important, community-led plan, which provides a 20-year vision to protect and integrate 640-hectares of parkland with the city of Ballarat,” he said.
