Creswick’s supermarket will open its doors tomorrow, now under the IGA brand.
The temporary pop-up supermarket at 45 Albert Street is right next door to the former supermarket, which closes at 8pm tonight. The brand new, purpose-built supermarket at 48 Albert Street will open in the first half of 2019.
Trading hours will remain the same, 8am – 8pm Monday to Saturday, and 8am – 7pm on Sundays.
The community is encouraged to pop in and see how the old British Hotel has been transformed, and what owner Steve Sellars and his dedicated team have been able to achieve.

Customers will be greeted by the friendly staff at the checkout area before arriving at the fresh food section, where all of your favourite fresh produce, quality meat and chicken will be ready to purchase.
Everyone’s favourite deli lines will be available in a pre-packed format, together with all the most popular fresh cream-filled cakes and slices. There is a full range of grocery, dairy and frozen items, albeit with a slightly reduced offering.
If there is something not there that you need, simply tell staff by Sunday and it will be in-store by Wednesday (and by Friday if you request it by Tuesday).
Creswick will be abuzz with activity this Saturday to celebrate the change to IGA. The Creswick Brass band will be out in force, creating a great atmosphere in the main street. There will be a sausage sizzle from 10am – 2pm, with all proceeds going to the Creswick Brass Band.
Also from 10am – 2pm will be free face painting for the kids and free freshly popped popcorn.
The supermarket is also running a great Halloween giveaway – for every $10 spent, customers can choose a free item from the Halloween merchandise (confectionery excluded) to help children celebrate this October 31.
“We do apologise for the inconvenience of the pop-up,” says Steve, “we did try to negotiate an extended rent period, but with no luck. We do ask for your support during the next few months and we look forward – as I’m sure you do – to the new supermarket in 2019.”
