The trio will be joined by Sydney Symphony Concertmaster Andrew Haveron and violist Jacqueline Cronin.
The performance will be of Schumann’s Quintet in E flat Major, originally composed in 1842 by Robert Schumann.
Ayres, Goldsworthy and Nankervis have toured around Australia, regularly performing at the Melbourne International Arts Festival, the Port Fairy Spring Music Festival, the Adelaide Festival of Arts, the Peninsular Summer Music Festival and in 2013, Opera Australia’s Ring Festival in Melbourne.
The Quintet performance will be paired with a rare performance of Korngold’s Quartet for two violins, cello, and piano left hand.
Tickets for Wednesday’s show are available online at the Art Gallery of Ballarat’s website.
